Racism by Any Other Name

It is just as racist to want a man to go to prison just because he’s black as it is to NOT want a man to go to prison just because he’s black. How does half the country not know this?

The reminder comes this week from this awful story where a black man pushed an elderly man down the New York subway stairs and killed him. 

Earlier that same day, or at least within a few days, this man, Rhamell Burke, had been harassing other people. He attacked a woman and her friend on the subway, nearly knocking the woman over, and eventually chasing them off the car. They ran to the police, standing nearby, and they arrested the attacker. 

However, once they were safe, the victimized woman refused to press charges against the man. She reportedly said that she didn’t want to be responsible for putting “another black man” behind bars.

The violent man was taken for evaluation anyway, but then released. Within an hour, he headed back to the subway, found 76-year-old retired teacher Ross Falzone about to head down the stairs, and pushed him. The man fell headfirst, cracked his spine and skull, and died.

This evil man is a problem. But the woman is, too. The problem is that the woman who refused to press charges is a racist, and racism is a really terrible thing. It has claimed another victim.

She is a racist because she believes a racist idea called Black Supremacy. You’re familiar with the term White Supremacy. It is the belief that light-skinned people are inherently superior to others in nature and have rights that others do not have. Black Supremacy is the same thing, with the colors switched. This woman is infected with this woke mental virus, and among the special rights that black people have, according to her thinking, is the right to be violent and still walk freely in society.

But that isn’t a right, is it? 

And wanting someone to go free because of their skin color is racist, just like wanting someone to be imprisoned because of their skin color is racist. 

Racism has consequences. In this case, Mr. Ross Falzone and his entire family are among those consequences. So heart-wrenching.

New York City is composed of a huge population of racists who would never in a million years think of themselves as racists. But they are, because they treat people differently based on race.

Perhaps a quick correction is in order here. I said the woman attacked on the subway is a racist. I may have been wrong. It may be that she WAS a racist, not IS.

Based on her comments, it seems perhaps she has now seen the error in her thinking and, in the future, would act in a better, more loving way toward her neighbors. Maybe she will now treat people based on the content of their character and not the color of their skin.

I sure hope so. Racism has no place in America. Not even in New York.
