Overview
The Voter Registration Coordinator plays a vital role in helping churches and citizens across Tarrant County engage responsibly in the civic process by providing nonpartisan voter registration opportunities, information, and support.
This role ensures Faith and Freedom America – Tarrant County remains in full compliance with all Texas election laws while equipping believers to confidently participate in elections as informed, engaged citizens.
The Coordinator works closely with church partners, volunteers, and event teams to set up voter registration tables, distribute approved materials, and coordinate the training of Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs) where needed.
This is a nonpartisan, ministry-centered leadership role focused on empowering Christians to steward their civic responsibility with integrity and wisdom.
Purpose of the Role
To oversee all nonpartisan voter registration efforts for Faith and Freedom America – Tarrant County, ensuring processes remain legally compliant, respectfully executed, and accessible across partner churches, events, and communities.
Core Responsibilities
Coordinate and oversee all voter registration activities at Freedom Nights, church gatherings, and community events.
Ensure all voter registration efforts comply with Texas Secretary of State requirements and Tarrant County VDR guidelines.
Recruit, train, and schedule Volunteer Deputy Registrars (VDRs) when required by Texas law.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of voter registration deadlines, ID requirements, and legal standards.
Build relationships with churches to help them host voter registration Sundays or civic engagement tables.
Work with the Civic Engagement Coordinator to prepare and distribute nonpartisan voter information (dates, deadlines, registration rules).
Track the number of registration events and completed forms submitted to the county.
Coordinate voter registration stations at Faith and Freedom America events.
Ensure all volunteers understand legal boundaries, including prohibitions against recommending candidates or parties.
Maintain supplies, forms, signage, and materials for voter registration tables.
Report monthly to leadership on activities, opportunities, and outcomes.
Volunteer Commitment & Conduct
4–6 hours/month, with additional time during primary and general election seasons.
No compensation is provided; approved ministry-related expenses may be reimbursed.

Maintain strict nonpartisanship in both conduct and communication.
Serve with humility, integrity, and excellence as a representative of Christ.
Handle all personal information with confidentiality and care.
Qualifications
A follower of Jesus Christ, active in a local, Bible-believing church.
Experience with civic engagement, church ministry, or community mobilization preferred.
Strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to learn Texas VDR regulations and maintain compliance.
Friendly, approachable, and able to engage with people from diverse backgrounds.
Comfortable speaking with pastors, volunteers, and attendees.
Reliable and consistent in following legal procedures and deadlines.
Preferred but not required:
Current Texas Volunteer Deputy Registrar (VDR) certification or willingness to obtain it.
