Estimated Commitment: 5–10 hours per month
Overview
The Grant Writer serves as a key contributor to the financial sustainability and long-term growth of Faith & Freedom America – Tarrant County by researching, drafting, and submitting grant proposals to foundations, ministries, and community organizations.
This role helps ensure that our ministry has the resources needed to:
Expand outreach initiatives
Strengthen church partnerships
Develop civic and biblical education
Host countywide gatherings and trainings
The Grant Writer uses strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and a heart for ministry to secure funding that fuels discipleship, civic engagement, and cultural impact across Tarrant County.
This is a volunteer leadership role for individuals who desire to serve God through behind-the-scenes support, financial stewardship, and organizational development.
Purpose of the Role
To identify, write, and manage grant opportunities that expand the financial capacity of Faith & Freedom America – Tarrant County, ensuring the ministry remains fully resourced, mission-aligned, and positioned for long-term impact.
Core Responsibilities
Research and identify local, regional, national, and faith-based grant opportunities that align with the mission of Faith & Freedom America - Tarrant County.
Prepare, draft, and submit grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation.
Maintain a clear and organized grant calendar to track deadlines, requirements, and reporting obligations.
Collaborate with the Director of Advancement and Director of Finance to obtain program details, financial data, and impact metrics.
Ensure all grant proposals uphold the ministry’s theological convictions, mission, and nonpartisan 501(c)(3) standards.
Assist in preparing progress reports and follow-up documentation for awarded grants.
Organize grant files, correspondence, drafts, and reporting documents in the shared drive.
Provide monthly updates to leadership regarding active grants, upcoming deadlines, and awarded funds.
Support the Advancement Team in developing donor materials or presentations when required.
Volunteer Commitment & Conduct
5–10 hours per month, dependent on grant cycles and proposal deadlines.
No compensation is provided; approved ministry-related expenses may be reimbursed.

Maintain strict confidentiality regarding finances and organizational information.
Uphold the theological, ethical, and nonpartisan standards of Faith & Freedom America - Tarrant County.
Communicate proactively about deadlines, needs, and project updates.
Qualifications
A professing believer in Jesus Christ, active in a local, Bible-believing church.
Strong writing, research, and analytical skills.
Experience in grant writing, nonprofit development, fundraising, or related work preferred.
High attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
Comfortable working with program descriptions, budgets, and financial data.
Organized, self-motivated, and able to collaborate with multiple leaders.
Familiarity with nonprofit terminology and basic budgeting helpful but not required.
